You’re invited! Back by popular demand, Hummert is hosting the 24th annual Educator’s Guide to Greenhouse Operations & Management short course where new and experienced agriculture and horticulture teachers alike will have the opportunity to gain insight from industry professionals to help ensure their greenhouse success.

Itinerary: By request, we have designed two separate educator tracks to better serve our short course attendees.

Day 1 Overview: Hands on Labs at Hummert’s On-Site Greenhouse
Join our team of subject matter experts for the most exhaustive Greenhouse 101 course available to our educators. You’ll get hands-on time and learn more about the ins and outs of greenhouse maintenance, repair, irrigation, sanitation and so much more.

Day 2 Overview: Off-Site Tours
Day 2 will give our short course attendees a behind the scenes look at the endless possibilities within the horticultural industry. From professional growers to research facilities to higher education opportunities and so on, educators will be armed with real-life applications to share with their students.

Day 3 Overview: Hummert Classroom
Our last day together focuses on the micro versus the macro of greenhouse operations. The classroom curriculum will consist of information designed to maximize your greenhouse yields. You’ll learn about getting started with plants, plugs and cuttings, how to manage a mum and/or poinsettia program, soil testing, pest control and more.

Experienced Greenhouse Educators – June 7-9 OR June 28-30


Day 1 Overview: Hummert Classroom
On day 1, we’ll jump right into the nitty gritty with the information you need to ensure a prosperous growing season in your greenhouse. Lead by our internal team of experts, attendees will gain insight to greenhouse maintenance, plants and cuttings ordering, your fundraiser programs, pest control and more. These classes will be more detailed and advanced in their curriculum.

Day 2 Overview: Off-Site Tours
Day 2 will give our short course attendees a behind the scenes look at the endless possibilities withing the horticultural industry. From professional growers to research facilities to higher education opportunities and so on, educators will be armed with real-life applications to share with their students.

Day 3 Overview: Hands on Labs at Hummert’s On-Site Greenhouse
Short course attendees will receive hands-on experience that ranges from vegetable and tree grafting, micro propagation overview and more on their last day of class. This session is designed to provide educators with the tools needed to bring their own horticulture teachings to the next level.
