Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for selling Hummert products or services through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas. The Inside Sales Representative will reach business targets through excellent telephone sales and communications skills. There will be emphasis on emerging markets in the horticulture field as well as traditional markets such as nurseries, research and universities. Being a partner and advocate to those in the cannabis, greenhouse and nursery industries will be critical. This individual will also develop their phone-based revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and prospective customers. Integrity, vision, drive and passion are required for this role.

Requirements
  • University or college degree in Horticulture, Marketing, Business or an acceptable combination of education and experience. 2 to 3 years of direct work experience in horticulture sales preferred. Those with telesales in other industries will be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and willing to learn customer relationship management software

E-Commerce Sales Administrator

The person in this position will play an integral role in the growth of our digital presence and online sales. This position will oversee and take ownership of a wide range of diverse activities our online guests and customers require.
Job Duties
  • Oversee and manage the entire online sales process; from initial online visit, to ordering, to invoicing
  • Operate web chat customer service portal
  • Process new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database
  • Accept, investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues received online
  • Attend periodic sales training to increase knowledge in the horticulture industry
  • Appropriately communicate online brand identity and nurture positive customer relationships to increase online sales
  • Other duties include: product recommendations, shipping/order quotations and generating monthly reports for continuous web improvement
Requirements
  • Experience in online commerce or customer service
  • Ability to maintain workflow efficiency and expeditious pace while multi-tasking
  • Interest or previous experience in horticulture/growing given extra consideration
  • Excellent speaking, writing and listening skills to diverse audiences and customer levels
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures
  • Ability to work independently as well as be an integral part of a powerful team
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and willing to learn customer relationship management software
