Propagation Mat Diagram

Propagation mats are beneficial for growers and hobbyists that need constant heat to the root zone of freshly sown seeds and cuttings. Root zone heat allows hobbyist to grow indoors when the weather outside is frightful. It also promotes a more uniform plant with increased rooting and decreased respiration, as well as aiding in energy conservation for growers. It has been proven by many studies that plants respond favorably to warm soil temperatures. Instead of spending the additional money to heat the soil by raising the air temperature in your greenhouse, or waiting for spring to arrive to start your seeds, use a propagation mat and apply the heat directly to the root zone. Where it counts!

The Redi-Heat Propagation Mats from Phytotronics, have been redesigned from the bench up. Unlike the current model, the new & improved mats are made from thick, flexible rubberized PVC, that will stand up to all the abuse a grower can dish out. They run on 120 volts and are completely waterproof. The mats come with a 5’ power cord and plug and will not trip a GFCI. Backed by a 2 year warranty from manufacturer defects, the new mats are the most powerful and durable mats available at an unbelievable price!

It is highly recommended to use a thermostat with any of the Redi-Heat mats to maintain a constant desired temperature. Even though the mats have the ability to heat up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, it may not be your ideal temperature. To control your growing environment temperature, use the improved Redi-Heat thermostat. The new RDT-4 thermostat is exactly the same as the old RHT-4 model but with an easy to read digital display. The thermostat can be used for automatic control of any heating elements such as the propagation mats, heating cables, electric heaters, or heat lamps. Up to four heating elements may be plugged into the thermostat at once, to be maintained at the set temperature, 40ºF to 100ºF with an accuracy of +/- 0.5ºF at the probe. The total wattage used by all heating elements plugged into the thermostat can be up to 1800 watts.

This new propagation mat and thermostat team will be a great addition for any of your growing needs! Check them out online or at your local Hummert store!
