Hummert's Wooden Labels - Pot Labels Plain
|
|
Hummert International is proud to present growers with economical birch veneer wooden labels. Great attention has gone into each portion of the production process - from the selection of logs, to the addition of preservatives that give our labels an amazingly long life. Rest assured that no expense was spared at any point during the production process. We’re confident the care that went into crafting these labels will show itself where it counts - in your greenhouse or nursery. Take a moment and see how life begins for a truly long-lasting label.
Our labels are made from New England White Birch veneer, a hardwood that offers greater durability than other wooden labels produced from ordinary Pine. Our treated wood labels are coated with a white, yellow or orange environmentally-friendly preservative for even longer use.

- The process begins with only the finest New England White Birch logs, the perfect wood for our labels.
- After logs are cut into manageably sized “bolts”, their bark is stripped. Barkless “bolts” are then sent to the lathe.
- The lathe quickly produces sheets of veneer with very little waste.
- Once the lathe has done its work, its on to the high-speed chopper. It’s here where the White Birch takes on its classic label shape.
- A quick finishing tumble in our dryer works to polish and dry our labels.
